Purpose of the Grants

Kevin Walters, spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance/State Fire Marshal’s Office, said,
“Most people in Tennessee get fire coverage from volunteer departments. This gives them the way to get money to help buy equipment to keep them safe and keep their community safe.”

The grants are intended to enhance the capabilities of these volunteer departments, ensuring they have the resources needed to protect their communities effectively.
