TENNESSEE — Two men were arrested after officers seized drugs, weapons, and cash during a search of a West Knoxville home, the Knoxville Police Department reported.
On Wednesday, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Toxaway Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into two overdose deaths and the local distribution of fentanyl.
The operation involved the KPD Organized Crime Unit, the Drug Related Death Task Force, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force.
Police recovered nearly 65 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 35 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, two handguns — including one reported stolen in 2022 — and over $2,200 in cash.
William Aldridge, 46, and Brandon Bayne, 36, were taken into custody.
According to KPD, both face charges that include maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes, possession of Schedule I drugs, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, and felony theft.
