One occupant managed to self-extricate and climbed up the embankment to alert a passing motorist. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and used Hurst eDRAULIC tools to rescue the second victim. They also set up a low-angle rope system to lift the person back up.

Dunlap Police assisted with the rescue and are investigating the crash. Puckett EMS transported the second victim, who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No details have been released about the condition of the first victim.

The Sequatchie County Rescue Squad helped close the roadway during the rescue and recovery efforts.
