MARYSVILLE, Ohio — One person was killed and another seriously injured after a fiery head-on collision in Union County on Saturday morning, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded just after 6:30 a.m. to the crash near the intersection of State Route 31 and Miller Road, about 14 miles north of Marysville.

A 2023 Jeep Renegade was found fully engulfed in flames.

A 2009 Honda Civic was heavily damaged in the crash.

Emergency crews pulled the Jeep’s driver from the vehicle and transported them to a local hospital before they were airlifted to a Columbus trauma center.

The Honda’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
Investigation
Preliminary findings indicate that the Honda was traveling southbound, while the Jeep was heading north when it crossed the center line and collided head-on.
Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol, drugs, or other factors contributed to the crash.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office, along with multiple local agencies, continues to investigate.
