EAST RIDGE, Tenn. — A Chattanooga attorney is facing charges after authorities say he tried to fight several people outside a home in East Ridge on Tuesday.
Deputies were called to Haisten Court around 6:18 p.m. after reports of a disturbance. According to an affidavit, the caller said attorney Fisher Wise was rolling on the ground, yelling, and attempting to start fights with multiple people.
When deputies arrived, they were told Wise had run off. An off-duty East Ridge police officer later spotted him on Altamaha Street.
The affidavit states the officer identified himself and ordered Wise to the ground, but Wise resisted efforts to handcuff him. He allegedly yelled phrases such as, “the universe wants you to stop,” “stop it stop it stop it,” and “I’m not on drugs I’m in the spirit molecule…”
Wise was eventually taken into custody and placed in a patrol car.
Residents on Haisten Court told deputies that Wise first laid in front of a lawn mower while one man was cutting grass, then tried to fight both him and the homeowner. A woman at the home said when she told the men to go inside, Wise touched her and attempted to follow her into the house.
Wise has been charged with assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He is an attorney at Fisher Wise & Associates.
According to the Tennessee Bar Association, Wise also faced charges in 2016 for disorderly conduct and retaliation against a police officer after an incident outside the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Courts Building.
