KENTUCKY — A London woman was taken into custody Wednesday after police said she was trafficking methamphetamine.
Mary Caldwell, 57, was spotted by London Police officers in a business parking lot on E. 4th Street. Authorities noted she had multiple outstanding warrants.
When officers approached her vehicle, a deputy K-9 conducted a search. Police found two baggies of a crystal-like substance, other controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales. Additional baggies containing the same crystal-like substance were discovered on Caldwell herself.
Caldwell was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription drugs not in a proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also faced two outstanding Madison County warrants for theft, including shoplifting and unlawful taking of property valued between $500 and $1,000.
She was transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
