A Tennessee man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening juveniles with a gun and being caught with drugs and weapons in Pikeville.
On September 4, 2025, around 7 p.m., Pikeville Police Officer Matt Brock was flagged down by three juveniles on Main Street who said a man had brandished an AR-style gun at them near a McDonald’s. They pointed out the suspect’s vehicle heading south on Main Street.
Officer Brock followed the vehicle until the driver suddenly pulled into the Venue parking lot, left the car running, and fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended and identified as William S. Cornett of Warren County.
Police said Cornett appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine. A search of his vehicle turned up a clear plastic bag with about 6.3 grams of a crystal-like substance that tested positive for meth, along with a syringe, a .243 Savage Arms bolt-action rifle, and an AR-style air rifle.
Cornett was booked into the Bledsoe County Jail and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, driving on a revoked license, driving while in possession of meth, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of meth over .5 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
