TENNESSEE — A known gang leader and major drug dealer was arrested Monday after a high-speed pursuit that spanned Tennessee and Virginia, U.S. Marshals confirmed.
Jametrick Franklin King, who was wanted in Washington County, Tennessee, for probation violations and burglary, also faced a federal indictment for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, according to U.S. Marshal David G. Jolley.

Authorities said King fled from U.S. Marshals and Tennessee Highway Patrol officers in Kingsport, reaching speeds over 100 mph while driving along the shoulder of Interstate 81. The chase crossed into Virginia, where King eventually crashed his vehicle.
He was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center and later released without injuries before being transferred to Carter County Jail, where he awaits his initial court appearance.
Marshal Jolley stated that King has a lengthy criminal history, including aggravated robbery and drug trafficking, and is a known leader of the Gangster Disciples street gang in Knoxville.
