KENTUCKY — A woman died after a shooting in downtown Louisville on Monday night.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to the 700 block of South Brook Street, near Broadway, around 10:20 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found a woman outside the location suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers performed life-saving measures until EMS and Louisville Fire crews arrived. The woman was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she later died.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Ashley Lanham.
The LMPD Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. So far, no arrests have been made, and police have not identified any suspects.
