KENTUCKY — A woman is dead and a man faces multiple charges after a deadly ATV crash Monday afternoon on Hardwick’s Creek Road, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Troopers said Shawn Cornett was driving an ATV with Ashley Plowman as a passenger around 2:30 p.m. when he lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn several times. Plowman was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.
Cornett was taken to a hospital for treatment but left against medical advice before a blood draw could be completed. Police later found him at his Irvine home, where he admitted to using heroin and meth after leaving the hospital. He claimed he was not under the influence at the time of the crash.

He is currently being held at the Powell County Jail.
